celebration for 22 years of life

With my love for beach, a picnic at the beach it is! =D

candid shot by Elaine
Made all the food hehe.Different types of sushi, sandwiches, potato salad, and fruit mix which we didn't have time/stomach to eat in the end lol.

happy us! Always love group photo =)

yiann and elaine
Was still sick on that day therefore didn't manage to capture more photos. I was taking a nap while the girls are all having fun posing in front of camera lol.

Went for special dinner at Nobu in Crown at night, a really awesome one. Pretty expensive too, each main costs around AUD30-40. We had 3 mains and a dessert. So yummy thus must bring in all the picture so that I remember them the next time I flip back to this birthday post. Thanks B!

Black cod
soft shell crab with kiwi salsa
wagyu beef gyoza

dessert bento - matcha ice cream and chocolate fondant

Supposed to meet the girls at home after dinner and continue for gelato at Freddo's. But! This was what welcomed me. Balloons and cake - a little surprise party =D Thank you so much for all the details people.

And when I was happily done cutting cake and finding for my water bottle, this was what awaiting me in my bedroom. More balloons... and presents!!! Balloons never fail to excite me, what's more with presents in the middle of them!

Really feel so blessed to have you guys. Sincerely, appreciate every things from you guys. We were strangers before we met, and now, look at us, we are so close.

NOOOO that's not all because all those happened on 02/09/12, before my birthday because that's the only date that bao bao and him are both here and only day that yiann don't have test when they're here. So on the exact birthdate, I went for lunch with the girls. Wanted to go for crepe at first as it has been a while since we have it. I meant savoury crepe, not those fruits type. Not sure where to get it back in Malaysia, I never had it in Malaysia actually. But the savoury crepe here has ham, cheese, egg etc. When we reached the restaurant, it was closed! Closed for one week, according to the notice sticked on the door. So we went to the restaurant directly opposite it, called Campari House. None of us ate there before, but I spotted "squid ink fettuccine" on their specials! Have been reading good review about squid ink pasta from bloggers in Malaysia =) Have been longing for it since, how lucky am I to get to try it on my birthday! The squid ink fettuccine was served with bug tail and topped with lobster cream! It was so yummy, the whole plate was just full of seafood flavour! But the portion was quite small, I couldn't get enough of it haha the photo below doesn't justify the size of the portion because I took such a close shot of it. It costs AUD28 but the ingredients used are really good. Wonder what do they serve with squid ink pasta in Malaysia. We also ordered salmon with spicy tomato sauce and pesto. It was good too but it's no beating squid ink pasta haha bias to the max!

Then Elaine and I headed to Le Petite Gateau for tea time. They have a selection of cakes on display, probably around 8 for us to choose from. I had a piece of black forest while she got a baked custard tart. The blackforest was really good. strong liqueur mousse on the top layer, then thin chocolate sponge followed by cream and cherry, lastly another layer of firm chocolate sponge. The cherry for deco on top of the cake tasted like plum and quite liqueur-ish actually. A rather small piece of cake for the price of $8.50 but the taste was real good.

This is our view, looking inside of their baking work place. Can see that they are enjoying their work very much. Made me think of how I should be enjoying what I do, or actually do what I enjoy?

the way we ride

What do you think of your current life? When you sit down beside a window, sipping a cup of freshly brewed coffee, staring outside the window (I'm trying to create a nice atmosphere), reflecting back everything that happened in our life, do you feel that everything seemed fated? Well at least my friend and I have this same feeling. For example, if we didn't come to Adelaide to study, we wouldn't have met all the people around us now, we would have been having our unrelated life separately. Honestly, nowadays even if we're staying in the same neighbourhood, we might not even know about each other. But that doesn't mean that we should just leave everything to fate. Instead I believe that we should do our best in everything, and things will work out in the end. That is because apparently no matter what decision we made, life still goes on, the only thing that possibly get affected is just that we might be experiencing different challenges and experiences in our life. That's all, no big deal right?

I feel that it's actually very torturing waiting for result, but I am trying my best not to think about it since there's nothing more I can do for now. The only thing I've been doing these days are catching up with friends that I have not been in contact that frequent due to the hectic course structure. It's really nice hanging out with them and getting closer with them. And also my old friends, oh I can't wait to go back to catch up with you guys!!!

" See the way we ride in our private lives,
ain't nobody getting in between "

Happy Birthday!

The birthday boy :
Clement
We had his birthday celebration dinner few days earlier at an all-you-can-eat korean bbq restaurant called Home Valley at Morphette Road. It's around $26 per head and you can order as much as you want, but the drinks are excluded from the price. The food is really pretty good, with a variety of choice. From tender beef, pork, chicken, mussels, squid, to mushrooms and sweet potatoes! They even have seaweeds for entree, I thought its a japanese entree but somehow they have it here. We practically tried everything in the menu for the meat section, except for few chicken thigh thingy!

And at cibo after dinner =D
Sponsored by Clement hehe...

Love this shot! Terrence and Fen!

And at 12am on 31st of May 2011, a birthday cake, a video, and 5 of us...

Even though we din't  really celebrate much on the birthday itself, except for the 12am celebration, hope you enjoyed your day. May all your wishes come true and be happy forever!
Once again, HAPPY BIRTHDAY !!!

Month of May

So Eggless changes its menu monthly, which is the reason attracting me there, to try out their May menu. I love their Tiramisu and Caramelised Apples Waffle in April menu. So I went there with high hopes for their May menu, unfortunately their May menu is not impressive at all. Its pretty disappointing as the taste does not match the standard of the presentation. Furthermore, they require every guest to order at least one dessert, which means no sharing!

Good news for month of May?
Terrence got a car!
wohooo =D I'm totally as excited as him for it!

THIS IS TERRENCE :

It was his 20th birthday on 22 May 2011!!!
Happy 20th =D
Coolness is what he always aim for lol. I think its pretty obvious through his photos hahaha.
Celebrated his birthday by having dinner at The Vietnam Restaurant, all the way to Pennington, which took us approximately 30 minutes bus ride.

The review for the restaurant was like super good. I personally feel that the food is nice, but not as amazing as mentioned by the review. It's Vietnamese food, which is a new try for me as I have never tried any Vietnamese food in Adelaide so far. The Chicken with Coconut and Lemongrass is the best among all the dishes and the Special Braised Beef is not bad too. The Fried Eggplant is a special one! Never eat deep fried eggplant before in my life lol. The restaurant was full when we got there, luckily we made a reservation on the night before. Other tables' food look extra more delicious compared to ours but those that they ordered above AUD30 per dish. So expensive! The portion of the dishes served are quite small, compared to other restaurants in Australia, like seriously different alot!

Final is coming soon, end of June. And my exams are all in one week : 22, 24, 27, 28.
Shit have to start studying NOW! Aiya so scared of Portfolio Theory and Management =(  HOW???

And I am supposed to start saving money for trips after exam. OMG going Melbourne and New Zealand! YES YES YES! thanks daddy for letting me to travel <3 Super excited dy! Terrence has been talking about yummy food places he gonna bring us when we go Melbourne. Gotta say this: I LOVE TRAVELLING and once again, thanks daddy!!!

Aftermath

How many friends can we have in our life?
Real friends, friends that we really care for, and they really do care about us?
I thought I'm doing great in handling all kinds of friendship after years studying far from home, meeting people from different background and culture...

Daddy used to say that I've been too naive, always..
And I thought he's wrong about it, thinking that I've seen alot of people, people that are meant to be hi-bye friends classmate kind of friends and friends that really care about me...
But I'm wrong..
Just because people that I care have been caring and loving me back..
Just because my friends are so nice to me, each and every one of them..
I LOVE EACH ONE OF YOU

And now.. I have to admit that its really tough for me to step out of my comfort zone..
To be aware that people might have totally different perceptions and thoughts..
I have never realise that I've been putting high hopes and too much trust on others..
I have been automatically assuming that people will return same amount of love to me...

I thought I have already got over it long time ago..
But because of a small drama, I realised that I actually had the fear planted in my heart.
No matter how much I tried, I couldn't erase the scar left in my heart.
I came back with smile on my face, hoping for a brand new year.
I were there for you, but I guess I wasn't the person that you need.
And slowly I learnt to let it flow away with time..
Without noticing that I am still carrying the past with me..
Little did I know it has made me became insecure in friendship..
I'll just gotta say, reality is as cruel as I've been told...

But I will be strong, to face the cruelty.
I will hold on to my faith, my love, my personality, I'm not gonna bound down to the cruelty of the reality.
I still believe that there are nice people around, just like my old friends, and I will still treat people as how I used to be..
Time is hard now, because it's time for me to learn, and to grow up.
But I will grow stronger, to be a better person.
